Seventy-one years ago today, President Elpidio Quirino signed Proclamation No. 225 s. 1950 designating December 10 as the Human Rights Day.

The proclamation recognizes, among others, the inherent dignity and of equal and inalienable rights of all members of the human family as the foundation of freedom, justice and peace in the world.
