It Is Almost Here!

It was a long wait. It was excruciating and nerve-wracking for the bar takers; challenging for the Bar Examination Officials. It’s a lot of work, but it will be worth it. Finally, it is almost here.

Since the pandemic started, the Philippines froze from admitting new lawyers to the Integrated Bar of the Philippines. The Bar Examinations, being a crucial part of admission to the practice of law, requires a lot of preparation and cannot be taken lightly. Due to the risks and the dangers the coronavirus poses, the Supreme Court deemed it proper to postpone the Bar examinations for the two previous years, 2020 and 2021. At last, this year, on February 4 (Friday) and February 6 (Sunday), the Bar exams will push through, and it is one for the books!

For Mindanao State University of General Santos City Campus (MSU-GSC), this upcoming Bar Examination is a history in the making. Not only is this year’s Bar Examination the first regionalized exam, but it is also the first to be held on the campus grounds. They say that no one is really prepared for the Bar exams, but we can definitely count on MSU-GSC for their preparation.

According to MSU-GSC’s University Press and Communications Office through its Director Mr. Monlouie Sorzano, the renovated Senior High School Building located in Tambler, General Santos City will be used for the two-day examination, with twelve of its rooms being allocated for the said event. Due to the ongoing pandemic, the said rooms are currently not being used for any other purposes and is being prepared solely for the Bar examinations. The said rooms are currently being sanitized to ensure a clean and safe surrounding for the Bar takers.

With the Bar Chair’s constant reminders of self-quarantine to the Bar takers together with his encouraging and assuring messages, we could only hope for the success of this upcoming Bar examinations. Fingers-crossed, may this exam be the first of the many still to come to be held on this campus, and hopefully create many lawyers that our society needs.

The MSU-GSC is prompt in its duty of creating a safe testing center for every taker. From the application to be a regional testing center, until the examination proper, the University is truly dedicated. And we, in Mindanao State University- College of Law, General Santos City Extension express our heartfelt cheer and prayers to every Bar taker; especially our own.

Padayon! We are all rooting for you.
