The Beauty of Waiting
We are not alone. We are held and loved by our loved ones and by a God Who is infinitely good. The beauty of waiting lies not only in the result of what we are praying for but in maintaining the right heart and attitude while waiting.
The moment we took the Bar exam, a feeling of both accomplishment and anxiety took over us. We had spent years in law school, staying up late to review for exams, sacrificing our time and resources, and facing countless challenges — physical, emotional, and mental.
True enough, the days after the Bar exam are a whirlwind of emotions. The thrill of anticipation mingled with the weight of uncertainty that only those who have walked this path can truly understand. For most of us, it feels like life pauses for the time being or hangs in the balance as we await the verdict of our fates. Indeed, it is an important season unlike any other as it fulfills our noble aspirations to uphold the rule of law and to help the poor, the oppressed, and the defenseless.
We find ourselves refreshing social media news feeds, checking every update, and exchanging fretful messages with fellow examinees. Some days, we wake up with peace in our hearts, fully trusting that God’s plan is perfect, no matter the result. On other days, doubt creeps in, and we find ourselves overanalyzing our answers, questioning what we typed, and replaying memories of what transpired during the exam. We wonder, “Did I do enough?” “Will I make it?” The tension between hope and fear can be both exhilarating and overwhelming. Yet, it is in these moments of vulnerability that we can draw closer to God.
While we may feel the pressure of waiting, we must trust that He knows the right time for everything. The sacrifices we made alone or together with our families were never in vain. Every effort, every tear, every late-night study session, and every whisper of prayer has been seen and heard by God. He has seen the hearts that worked tirelessly, and He will lead us to where we are meant to be.
We are not alone. We are held and loved by our loved ones and by a God Who is infinitely good. The beauty of waiting lies not only in the result of what we are praying for but in maintaining the right heart and attitude while waiting.
Beyond doubt, His will is always worth the wait.
